In The Veins with Panel Discussion

£2.00

Screening Friday 20th September 11:30am at Darlington Library, as part of Women X Film Festival

In Partnership with North East and Yorkshire Archives

A special screening of a 1986 Tyne Tees Television documentary ‘Trouble and Strife’ that follows two groups of County Durham miners’ wives who, one year on from the 1984-85 Miners’ Strike are continuing the fight to save coal mining in the region. This film will be paired with ‘In the Veins’, a new short film that resonates through time, using over a century of archive footage to shine a light onto the face of the mining heritage of Yorkshire and the North East of England. The event will be followed by a panel discussion with ‘Women Against Pit Closures’ campaigner Heather Wood plus representatives from the North East Film Archive and Teesside University.

Friday Day Pass Holders and Weekend Pass Holders have access to this screening as part of their pass.

The ‘In the Veins’ screening is supported by Film Hub North with National Lottery funding on behalf of BFI Film Audience Network.
