It’s time to Evolve.

Our talent development programme which is accessible, comfortable, and confidence building.

Waiting List for Cohort 5 (Autumn/Winter 2024) now open.

We’ve been supporting women in the film industry for over ten years now, we’ve seen incredible short films premiere and big changes happen to improve the way we work. However, there’s still a big short fall of creative opportunities for women in the industry and many remaining issues that affect career longevity.

Schemes designed to help us in the industry are often limited to being location specific, that small 16-25 age gap window or falsely showcasing ‘entry level help’ but requiring you to have a bucket of experience. Which is why we created RP: Evolve - our talent development programme, which welcomes applications for all ages, backgrounds and experience levels!

Through this programme, so far we have helped four cohorts of writers and directors with training and mentoring to build their career pathways. With a personal focus on each creatives background, current situation and desired career goals. We’re all about creating comfortable growth that isn’t just ‘Move to London and get an agent’ (Greaaat advice, but how?!)

Over 12 weeks we accommodate taking your story idea to a finished ready script, along with a pitch deck to accompany you putting it into the world. With helpful notes along the way, ensuring that you’re not just getting the negative feedback but also the positive to keep you motivated!

Our workshops are engaging and allow questions and conversation, as well as solo and group activity so you get practical skills as well as the knowledge to further your understanding within the industry. (Script Structure, Shot planning and scheduling, Directing your cast and crew and How to Pitch)

Then our mentoring is the icing on the cake, allowing you to open up in a safe space about your struggles in your creative journey and personalised support on how to overcome them to not only have a career plan in place, but also create a successful work/life balance that works for you.

Is it right for me?

There’s many support programmes out there these days, and mentoring certainly has become a ‘buzz word’ for organisations to promote ‘support’ when they should really offer up funding for production! But enough! We’ll hop off our soapbox now, why is RP: Evolve for you?

If you’re in the early stages of your career journey, and would like to grow your knowledge and understanding of the writing to production process then our workshops are an accessible way for you to do.

If you’re wanting to meet like minded creatives at similar stages, then you’ll meet some brilliant people on your cohort. In previous groups we have seen filmmakers meet up for coffee dates, read eachothers work, attend festivals together and even work together on a short film!

And if you’re wanting a mentor who will help not only build an appropriate and realistic career plan for you, but also listen and understand your concerns and fears about navigating the industry, then our mentoring sessions will be an exciting addition to your calendars.

Evolve is designed for those who are entry level or mid career, it is for short film scripts only, and suited for solo writers not partners or writing groups, we do not recommend Evolve for those who are currently on other schemes, mentorships or in full time education. It is also not for people who have already acquired funding or producers for their project. Your script must be in a position to be further developed.

Our Pay What You Can spaces are designed for those on low income support.

Costings & Extras

The cost of Evolve is from £289.00 per person (Prices to be confirmed in April 2024 for Cohort 5)

We also offer 1 pay what you can place per cohort.

The programme spans across three months, missed workshops can be watched back later, but script deadlines are not flexible.
