An Interview with Zoe Alker
Zoe Alker is a writer and director who is currently based in Bristol. In 2019, Zoe released her Cornish-language film, Yn Mor (At Sea), which was highly commended and awarded with titles such as ‘Best Regional Short’ at the Cornish Film Festival. Since the successes of Yn Mor, Zoe has continued to prove her filmmaking skills and talent by working with Miles Sloman as part of the BBC New Creatives Scheme on short film Anoraks, as well as working with musician Orla Gartland on her music video projects Did It To Myself and Figure It Out. Due to these achievements, Zoe has been a part of this year's BFI Weekender - an event which aims to showcase the talents of filmmakers from working class backgrounds.
An Interview with Hollie Bryan
Hollie Bryan is a producer based in the North of England. After starting off her career producing music videos, Hollie then expanded her creative skills into the world of filmmaking in 2013 with her first short, Geezer. This year, she is a part of BFI Weekender - a weekend dedicated to celebrating the best working class talent in filmmaking today. In this interview, Hollie talks to us about the challenges and joys of entering the film industry, as well as her current and upcoming creative projects.
An Interview with Monet Morgan
Monet Morgan is a London-born filmmaker who currently focuses on making short films. After graduating from university, Monet began freelancing for brands, weddings and events, while always keeping her writing spirit alive by coming up with scripts and developing new, innovative ideas for her filmmaking. Recently, her short film Wooly Hair was selected at the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival. Due to her successes, Monet is part of this years’ BFI Weekender - a weekend dedicated to celebrating the best working class talent in filmmaking today.
