Interview by Zoe Morris
WHAT ATTRACTED YOU TO THE STORY OF FOXHOLE?
I was attracted to the idea of a cult as I'd never played a character in which those circumstances appeared before and I loved the idea of seeing it breaking apart and how different characters cope with that.
TELL US ABOUT YOUR CHARACTER, SOPHIE.
Sophie is a popular sixth former, she's kind and sociable and she knows that if it came to voting for a prom queen it would probably be her. However she is also naive in the sense of her youth as she falls for this guy Warren very easily, and she doesn't see the lies and manipulation behind there relationship.
WHAT HELPED YOU GET INTO CHARACTER?
Before I would start the take I would keep thinking of how manipulated she was and the struggle and confusion she is feeling or how she was being used. I would picture an emptiness in my stomach which would help me to feel that drive to eat food, showing how deprived we are as eating is our main objective in certain scenes.
HOW DID YOU FIND THE FILMING PROCESS?
I loved the new feeling of being on set of a film, in front of a camera. It was all new for me and I enjoyed every bit like getting my hair done, walking around on a real set.
WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING WITH THE REST OF THE CAST?
It was lovely to meet new people, view how they work on set and get points from them. They made me feel welcome and definitely helped me with this new transition.
HOW WAS THE PREMIERE SCREENING?
It was amazing getting to view myself on a big screen, In a dressed up environment with all my loved ones,. It made me feel special as it was celebrating us and even more excited to finally view the film as the clock counted down till we started watching. I'll never forget it.
HOW WAS YOUR FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH THE RIANNE PICTURES TEAM?
I loved how they considered how new this was for some of us and really let us get used to how it all worked with ease. But especially how they let us be our own person and was intrigued in getting to know us, it made me feel really welcome.
WHAT WOULD YOU WANT THE AUDIENCE TO TAKE AWAY FROM WATCHING FOXHOLE?
I want the audience to become aware of how all genders can get abused and how many people can be subject to abuse without you knowing. Also hopefully the idea of family, how it can get you through anything if you try hard enough.
